Our Parent Handbook provides information about our program that we hope will answer any questions or concerns you may have. You are your child’s first and most important teacher. Therefore, we would like to work in partnership with you to provide the best possible start for your child. Please contact us if you have any further questions.
Our learning philosophy is that preschoolers learn best through their senses. We focus on active learning through play, music, games, stories, crafts, field trips, and social interactions. Our curriculum will meet and exceed our district’s standards as well as the Common Core Standards without losing the joy of learning, discovering, and playing. Parents will receive evaluations twice a year (Feb, May).
In case of inclement weather, please listen to your radio or television for announcements about the Northern York County School District. If Northern School District is closed, Mountainside will normally be closed as well. If Northern has a 2-hour delay, then Mountainside will begin ALL morning classes at 10:30 am and end at 12:30 pm for both Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten. If you are in doubt as to whether Mountainside is having school or not, please check your Brightwheel messages, the Mountainside website (this), or our Facebook page.
Classes that are canceled due to bad weather are not to be deducted from monthly tuition rates.
